Captain warns of possible norovirus outbreak on historic Cuba cruise

Captain warns of possible norovirus outbreak on historic Cuba cruise

Three hours after telling passengers at breakfast that reported cases of
gastrointestinal illness had not increased over night, Capt. David Box
at noon announced the medical outlook aboard the Adonia had taken a turn
for the worse, reports the Sun Sentinel.

"Unfortunately, over the period, especially this morning [Saturday], we
have seen an increase in the case of gastrointestinal illness that
possible could be suggestive of norovirus," said Box.

Passengers were also reminded to wash their hands often, and make
frequent use of the sanitizing gel available through dispensers placed
throughout the ship. There was no immediate count on how many of the 600
passengers aboard had reported feeling sick.
