Médicos del Hospital General Universitario Vladimir Ilich Lenin, ubicado
en la oriental provincia de Holguín, informaron sobre la existencia de
casos de fiebre Chikungunya, en varias provincias del país.

eastern province of Holguín, are reporting cases of chikungunya fever in
several provinces.
Las salas de emergencia de los hospitales han reportado casos de esta

varias personas con dolores de estómago, fiebre y diarreas abundantes,
pero los médicos les dicen que solo se trata de un brote diarreico, y no
informan exactamente si es cólera, dengue o fiebre Chikungunya.
Alba Fernández Ortiz, a resident of First Street, Luis Dagnes Division
in Santiago de Cuba, says that for several days her block has seen
several people with stomach pains, fever, and abundant diarrhea, and
they haven't been told specifically whether it's cholera, dengue, or
chikungunya.
If this report is accurate, Cuba is dealing with a lot more than the two
imported chikungunya cases mentioned (without details) in the June 6
PAHO report.
